A team from Freyssinet completed the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge on 19 August, joining forces with Costain to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The Freyssinet team – Deborah Lawley, Chris Meade, Chris Goron, Marc Recoquille and Thomas Leguay, currently based at Brynglas on Costain’s tunnel refurbishment scheme project, climbed the three highest mountains in Wales – Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan.
Despite inclement weather conditions from the starting point on Snowdon, the team completed the walk in a total walking time of nine hours and 40 minutes, and successfully finished the challenge in 16 hours and 40 minutes incorporating travel time and refreshment breaks.
Cancer Research UK is Costain’s chosen charity for 2017. The Welsh Three Peaks challenge will support the charity’s summer health and wellbeing campaign to promote cancer prevention and awareness.
The team has raised a total of £1,865 so far, with more donations still to come in. You can sponsor the Freyssinet team via the JustGiving link – https://www.justgiving.com/Freyssinet
