Shropshire charity Telford Young Carers Service, which provides advice and support for young carers aged 5-18 has been awarded nearly £10,000 by the VINCI UK Foundation.
The funding will go towards its Access to Life project, which aims to provide respite for young carers in the area by engaging them in fun activities, helping them discover new interests and make new friends.
The VINCI UK Foundation was launched in 2016 with the objective of promoting social cohesion and fighting exclusion, achieved by combining financial assistance with the skills of VINCI group employees. Employees who nominate successful projects become the charity’s sponsor and get involved with the organisation by providing practical support.
Freyssinet’s Business Manager Graham Stanford, who nominated Telford Young Carers, will now work with charity for the next 12 months assisting with its Access to Life project.
This year VINCI UK Foundation grants totalling £200,010 will support 30 charities across the UK and ROI which focus on improving access to training, employment, housing and healthcare for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society.
