Freyssinet’s ElevArch® technique has been shortlisted in the Rail Research and Innovation Implementation category for the UK Rail Industry Awards.
Hosted by Rail Technology Magazine, the awards ceremony celebrates the hard work and achievements of organisations, teams and individuals across all aspects of the rail network, and will take place in London on 22 March.
The ElevArch® technique has already won multiple industry awards and received recognition for its innovative concept and sustainable approach. A revolutionary system for vertically jacking masonry bridge arches, ElevArch® will minimise intrusion to the rail environment compared to other techniques, significantly reducing cost, time and resources required.
Following two years of research and development, Freyssinet undertook the world’s first ElevArch® masonry bridge arch lift in October 2016. The 161-year-old, 220 tonne masonry arch bridge at Moco Farm in Buckinghamshire was lifted 900mm using ten 50 tonne jacks. To find out more, email john.kennils@freyssinet.co.uk
