Freyssinet joins the Temporary Works Forum (TWf)

Temporary works

Freyssinet is delighted to have joined the Temporary Works Forum (TWf). The TWf leads the UK construction industry’s discussion and research on best practice in temporary works.

The main objectives of the TWf and its members are:

  • Give authoritative guidance and professional leadership to the industry when required
  • Consider aspects of permanent works and interfaces between permanent works and temporary works as are relevant
  • Consider both current practice and likely development
  • Awareness of trends and innovations in design, construction and use

Freyssinet design, supply, install and operate temporary works on many of our UK projects, ranging from propping and jacking for bridge maintenance and repair through to the world’s longest ever box slide for HS2, where we moved the 12,600t Marston box structure into position over the M42 to facilitate the build of the high-speed rail line. Watch the HS2 Marston Box video here.

We are look forward to contributing to the forum and collaborating with our industry partners. Pre-Construction & Special Projects Director Tom Glovehew will lead Freyssinet’s involvement and will be at the next meeting at ICE Headquarters on 12 June.
