Freyssinet received two awards at the ICE West Midlands Awards in September – winning the Small Project Award, and highly commended in the Innovation category for the HS2 Marston Box Slide.
Project Director Kevin Bennett and Project Manager Maria Teresa Sanchez Sanchez collected the awards on behalf of the Freyssinet team, who worked alongside our client Balfour Beatty VINCI, SYSTRA, Mott MacDonald and group companies Freyssinet, GPCM and Hebetec Engineering AG on the development and execution of the works.
Over Christmas 2022, the 12,600t Marston box structure was slid into position over the M42 to facilitate the build of the HS2 line. The 162m push, the world’s longest bridge slide, required complex engineering and flawless delivery, and we are delighted this record-breaking box slide is now a multi award-winning project!
The annual ICE West Midlands awards recognises exceptional projects, teamwork and individual excellence in the region.
Receipt of the ICE award follows the recent CECA Midlands Project of the Year award win for HS2 Marston Box Slide.
